Role title: Project Office Analyst/Project Planner

Department: Operations/ Programme Management
Reporting to: Programme Director

ROLE/DESCRIPTION:

This key Programme Management Support role is a real opportunity for the right candidate to be part of building and growing Europe’s most exciting new fabless semiconductor business in cellular wireless.

Reporting to the Programme Director and based in Bristol, UK, the successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of Project & Programme Management including Process development.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: High Standard of Secondary Education expected. Candidates with formal qualifications(HND/Degree etc) in Business Management/Project Management will have a distinct advantage.

No. of year’s experience: 2-4yrs in a Project Office role.

Skills required:

Essential:

  • The role requires good communication and reporting skills.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office particularly Excel.
  • Experienced in using MS Project for tracking multiple projects or teams.
  • Demonstrable experience of Project Management principles including but not limited to:
    • Planning & Schedule Tracking to plan
    • Requirements Analysis & Tracking,
    • Risks & Issues Tracking,
    • Change Management Control,
    • Defect tracking analysis
  • Experience of working in a PSO and a desire to support change and process implementation.
  • Evidence of having dealt with complex technical and management issues.

Desirable:

  • Visio & SQL would be an advantage,
  • A background in Mobile Telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities

Support to Project & Programme Managers:

  • Monitoring projects on a day-to-day basis and updating the progress to plan through liaison with the engineering staff.
  • Developing management information tools and using these to produce regular reports on Status for Project Stakeholders including the Customer.
  • Support the re-planning of a project when new requirements, change requests or other exceptional changes occur.
  • Managing project change, and assessing impact of changes on the plans. Analysis of critical path and working with engineering staff to derive an optimal schedule.

Support to the development of the business:

  • Support the development of Project management & business process. Defining, reviewing, improving and rolling out the processes.
