Job description
Role title: Senior Product Marketing Engineer
This key marketing role is a real opportunity for the right candidate to be part of building and growing Europe’s most exciting new fabless semiconductor business in cellular wireless. Reporting to the Product Marketing Director and based in Bristol, UK, the successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of technical marketing including product definition, partnerships, collateral development and training and will help to formulate and implement Icera’s marketing strategy for mobile phone, datacard and consumer wireless device applications.
Responsibilities
- Work within the marketing team to position and build Icera’s business
- Work with cross functional teams to resolve product and customer issues
- Regular travel to customers & partners around the world to identify product requirements and market issues
- Develop and target specific market segments. Identify and articulate market trends and competitive position.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with business objectives
- Support product development throughout the development process
- Manage and build key partner relationships
- Create customer and internal product documentation
- Own and develop commercial proposals & support sales teams with customer opportunities
- Sales and FAE training
Profile
- A strong technical background in mobile devices or semiconductors
- A product marketer with an engineering background or engineer wanting to move into a technical marketing role
- Able to fully understand the technical side of mobile handsets and datacards
- Knowledge of mobile UE system architectures
- Ability to build and manage customer and alliance partner relationships
- Customer oriented, with experience of working directly with customers
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a relatively flat organization
- Must be willing to travel (~20%)
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject (Electronic Engineering or equivalent) and at least 5 years relevant experience. Experience in an applications, design consulting or technical customer support role would be an advantage. In addition to a solid technical background the applicant must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language.
