Job description
Role title: Algorithm Engineer
Icera is seeking an algorithm engineer to join its wireless system engineering team.
Candidates should have some of the following skills-
- Detailed knowledge of a variety of cellular air-interfaces (such as cdma2000, WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, IS-136, AMPS, TACS etc)
- Terminal product development experience
- Good theoretical understanding of coding theory (turbo codes, convolutional codes, trellis codes, LDPC codes, Reed-Solomon codes etc.) as well as practical implementation issues
- Modulation (pilot-assisted demodulation techniques etc.)
- Equalisation (matched filtering, DFE, maximum-likelihood techniques)
- Control loops as applied to communication systems (time-tracking, power control, AGC, AFC etc).
- Quantisation and other non-linear effects.
- Monte-Carlo simulation issues and tools (C, Matlab)
The candidate should have an excellent academic background (Ph.D and at least a 2:1 degree from a top-tier university). They should also be highly motivated and excited by the prospect of working in a fast-paced startup environment.
