Role title: Senior Programme Manager
Based in Bristol UK, and reporting to the VP Operations at Icera, you will be responsible for the overall program-level delivery of one of our key wireless platforms. This is an important role in the organization, at the hub of engineering and business activity of the company.
Profile:
- An experienced project manager with background in the mobile communications industry
- Proven track record in the development of complex inter-disciplinary consumer products to a global market
- Understanding of the mobile phone development cycle, approvals process, IOT, field trials, customer acceptance process
- Ability to understand hardware and software issues sufficient to identify, anticipate and raise issues relating to the project plan
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills
- Highly proactive and ability to think creatively in order to meet with agreed deadlines
- Willing to travel (up to 30% travel required depending on project phase) mainly to Icera’s site in France, and occasionally to customer sites
Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the organization’s detailed delivery plans across our Modem, Hardware, System Engineering and Validation teams to optimize delivery dates and product quality.
- Coordination the output of our Product Concept and Marketing teams to understand resource and risk trade-offs at the project kick-off phase
- Working closely with a lead Customer Project Manager to ensure the platform delivery meets requirements for functionality and schedule
- Negotiating software and hardware delivery schedules between our Customer Engineering team and our Development organization
- Presenting of project status and issues to senior management and the project team
- Tracking and reporting of progress versus plan, and instigation of corrective actions
- Maintenance and reporting of tracking parameters and statistics e.g. Software bugs found/fixed, test case passes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree and at least 7 years industry experience, with at least 5 years in the mobile handset design and support area. In addition, at least 3 years project and people management experience would be desirable. Strong communication skills in the English language are a must.
