Nigel Toon
VP Marketing & Business Development and Founder
Nigel is responsible for Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Icera Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors and a founder of the company.
Prior to Icera, Nigel Toon served as Vice President and Managing Director for Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) responsible for its European business unit. He joined Altera as a Field Applications Engineer and during his 13-year career held a number of positions including Regional Sales Manager, Marketing Director, Managing Director and was promoted to Vice President and Officer of Altera Corporation in 1998. He was instrumental in establishing and growing the European business and achieved a 20-fold increase in sales during his tenure, with this business unit representing 25% of Altera’s worldwide revenues. In addition to his sales and marketing responsibilities Nigel was also instrumental in establishing the European Technology Centre at Altera based in the UK. Prior to Altera, Nigel held business development positions with Standard Microsystems and Memec PLC and started his career as an engineer with the GEC Group. He studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Heriot Watt University and is a Member of the IEEE.
